In the arena of Social Research the focus has been on research consultancy and implementation in various fields of human development including health, education, welfare, community organization, creation of peoples’ organizations and related fields.
Prof. P Ramachandran, Senior Research Consultant , heads the Social Research Centre.
Prof. P Ramachandran, is a renowned researcher and has several decades of invaluable experience in this field.
He is formerly the Head of the Department of Research and Methodology at India’s premier institute the Tata Institute of Social Sciences ( TISS ) Mumbai with over 30 years of service.
At TISS Prof. Ramachandran has also held the post as Acting Director of the Institute
He has written and published over 30 books and 40 articles on Health, Education and Welfare including Professional Social Work personnel, Housing, community development. Women Issues, Communication dynamics, Social Movements, Research methodology including training materials, and related subjects.

Institutional Partner and Resource Person, Rockefeller Foundation, New York sponsored Research Programme for Strengthening of health Research in Non Governmental Organizations in India [authored the User Friendly Training Primer for the programme, and Editor of Six Volumes of results of this endeavor]
Member, National Committee to Review the National Education Group programme to enhance education levels of children, especially girl child, in Tribal and Rural India.
