All of us have dilemmas that centre around the sharing of time. The most rare and precious resource, TIME, is the worst managed or even understood.

Like a candle lit at both ends, we expend our time and energy creating a wonderful glow- far too much than required. We rarely schedule or timetable the time we need to ourselves, for private reflection, healing, learning and reviving ourselves to renew our vigour to face the challenges thrown at us.

We therefore feel this neglect as an imbalance in our work-to-life ratio. Trying to fint in equal amounts of time cannot solve the problem. The task is to improve the Quality of time we spend on anything or anyone including ourselves.

I agree completely. We need to examine what exactly is missing in the relationships we have or the achievement of goals we seek to fulfil and identify what elements of the timetable are holding us down. Uncovering specific issues in the run of life will help one address them and provide for the time necessary to do what we want. For example , I have struggled with providing time to read the various interesting books I pick up on my trips. I have found that my schedules do not provide time for reading as it is not considered as important as the other things lining up. I have found that strictly time-tabling a slot for reading is necessary and I also cary a couple of books with me when I travel to use waiting time in between flights, road journeys, any small breaks I get beyond the main timetable of the day. A couple of books help me move my reading moods between them so I do not feel constrained to just one option. COnsequently I have developed the habit of reading 2 to 3 books at a time. Nice ?
